The surrounding virgin jungle is home to rare species of fine native hardwoods and an enormous variety of local flora and fauna. Well defined hiking trails will keep you entertained for hours touring this incredible rainforest. Following one of the trails through the jungle, you will arrive in about a ½ hour to a to a fabulous 'look-out point' over Golfito's bay.
You will be spell-bound with the large population of White-Faced Monkeys frolicking in the above canopy. Their daily routine is foraging down to the feeding station lined with an impressive store of bananas only yards away from the main house. For a number of years, the owners have been protecting the local troops of Capuchins.
Golfito Bay (Gulfo Dulce) is ideal for keeping a boat for fishing or perhaps just to enjoy a day on the water. Even if you don't own a boat, there are other means to enjoy our wonderful 'Sweet Gulf': day charters are available for fishing, water taxis offer excellent touring opportunities, a daily Ferry departs Golfito if you wish to visit Puerto Jimenez or the Osa Peninsula, and a private ferry runs over to Zancudo where the wonderful beach stretches for miles.
